The Appellate Division of the Fourth Department has upheld the conviction of an Auburn man on drug charges.

Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced the ruling this week, affirming the conviction of Michael Tillman, who pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance in February 2022.

Tillman was sentenced several months later to 3.5 years in prison, followed by three years of post-release supervision.

The charges stem from a July 2021 raid by the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force at Tillman’s Auburn residence. Investigators recovered seven grams of cocaine, Molly, narcotics packaging materials, digital scales, and $900 in cash. Tillman was later indicted and entered a guilty plea.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Christopher T. Valdina handled the appeal for the District Attorney’s Office.
