Auburn Man Charged After Threats at Hospital

SHARE NOW

A 51-year-old man is facing felony charges after police say he threatened to blow up Auburn Community Hospital and the police station.

Authorities say James Brooks made the threats around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday while at the hospital on Lansing Street. Staff and officers at the scene reported the remarks, and Brooks was taken into custody without incident.

Brooks has been charged with two counts of making a terroristic threat, a D felony. He was processed at Auburn Police Department headquarters and later transported to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
