Downtown Auburn will celebrate the fall season with a new decorating contest
As part of the newly created Destination Downtown Auburn initiative, the Auburn Downtown Partnership, which runs the Downtown Business Improvement District, has announced the launch of its first-ever Fall Decorating Contest for businesses within the district. Businesses will compete to see who has the best storefront decorations, with winners being decided by a public poll on the BID’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
Executive Director Jesse Kline told FLX Local Media that she hopes the contest will promote local businesses while embracing the changing season.
“I think it’s just lovely when you come upon a downtown or any location that embraces the seasons and celebrates them in such a way that they spotlight their business.”
Kline added that businesses do not need to sign up to participate; they only need to decorate their storefronts so BID staff can take pictures for the poll. Any business owners with questions can email Kline at [email protected].
Business owners are encouraged to begin decorating as soon as possible; however, polling won’t take place until October 25, with winners being announced the next day.
Kline also said that, if this contest proves successful, she will consider creating decorating contests for each of the seasons.
