A Syracuse man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for firearm possession and selling cocaine in Auburn.
According to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, 29-year-old Romello Gallman pled guilty to one count each of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in July before Judge Thomas Leone. On Thursday, Gallman was sentenced to seven years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision.
Back in January, the Auburn Police Department and Finger Lakes Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at an Auburn residence where they found cocaine, drug paraphernalia commonly utilized for the packaging and distribution of illegal narcotics, and a loaded handgun. The serial number on the gun appeared to be defaced in an attempt to impede tracking efforts.
