Second Geneva Police Officer Resigns Amid Ongoing Criminal Investigation

SHARE NOW

The Geneva Police Department has lost another officer in the midst of ongoing criminal investigations involving members of the force.

On Friday, Officer Nathan Jacon resigned from his position with the department. Jacon, who joined the GPD in December 2023, had been on administrative leave since May while under criminal investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. The nature of that investigation has not been disclosed.

Jacon’s resignation comes just months after the arrest of Officer Michael Tapscott, who was taken into custody in May for allegedly selling prescription Adderall while on duty. Tapscott, an 11-year veteran of the department, resigned shortly after his arrest.

Following Tapscott’s arrest, Chief Ron Eveland confirmed that Jacon and Sergeant David Felice had also been placed on administrative leave as part of the sheriff’s office probe. Felice remains under investigation.

At the time, Chief Eveland described the allegations against Tapscott as “deeply unsettling” and pledged the department’s full cooperation with investigators.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has not released further details about the investigation into Jacon or Felice, and it remains unclear whether it is connected to Tapscott’s case.
