Lisa Kaminski has been named the new executive director of United Way of Cayuga County. She took over the position from former Executive Director Kathryn Dennis during the nonprofit’s Fifth Annual Day of Caring on August 7.

In a press release, Kaminski said she “is honored to begin her role at the United Way of Cayuga County, and she looks forward to working alongside the staff, board, local partners, volunteers, and residents to improve lives and strengthen the community.”

She has over a decade of experience leading nonprofits, engaging with volunteers, recruiting, and program development. Kaminski spent 27 years with the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways before joining United Way. There, she expanded youth programming opportunities, strengthened partnerships with local businesses and the community, and grew membership in her region.

Since the United Way of Cayuga County’s opening, Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways has been a funded member agency of United Way, meaning Kaminski has firsthand knowledge of how United Way’s fundraising efforts benefit the community.

“The Board is excited to welcome Lisa to the United Way of Cayuga County Family. We look forward to working with her and appreciate the experience, energy, and compassion she’ll bring to the organization,” said Tracy Verrier, Board President.

Kaminski lives in the Finger Lakes with her two children. Outside of work, she enjoys local events, walking local trails, and cheering on her kids during their school activities.
