UPDATE: State Police have identified the victim as 45-year-old Daniel R. Roland, of Newark.
45-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon in a collision between a motorcycle and a dump truck on Parker Road in Marion.
According to a preliminary State Police investigation, the motorcycle was traveling south at around 4 o’clock when it struck a dump truck that was stopped in the same lane.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
The driver of the dump truck, 60-year-old James Suhr of Marion, remained at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. Police say sobriety tests showed no signs of impairment.
State Police were assisted by the Collision Reconstruction Unit, the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, and the Wayne County Coroner. The investigation remains ongoing.
