Auburn Police have charged a man with burglary following a domestic incident on Wilbur Avenue early Monday morning.
Officers responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m. on June 30 and quickly detained 29-year-old Tyler Bovee without incident. According to police, Bovee had allegedly broken into a family member’s home by entering through a window while the occupants were asleep.
Investigators say Bovee stole several items before being confronted by a family member, who told him to leave. Officers arrived as he was exiting the residence.
Bovee is facing a felony burglary charge, as well as misdemeanor counts of petit larceny and criminal mischief.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
