SHARE NOW

After serving as Building Principal in the Horseheads Central School District since 2012, Michael Bostwick is moving on to become the next Superintendent of the Geneseo School District.

In addition to 22 years in education as a science and math teacher, STEM curriculum mentor, and building principal, Bostwick holds a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Education, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership, graduated from the year-long Future Superintendents Academy and attended training on Emergency Management and School Safety by State Police, Homeland Security, and the FBI. In his time as an educational leader, he collaboratively developed a curriculum to launch the STEM pipeline initiative in the Greater Southern Tier BOCES region, developed a Response to Intervention and Multi-tiered Support System framework, cultivated a lively and thriving school culture, and is trained by the Buck Institute for Education in Project Based Learning (PBL).

Geneseo Board of Education President Michael Tenalio explains that Michael aligned best with the Board of Education’s criteria for district vision, strategic planning, fiscal management, educational experience, and community relations. His philosophy of curriculum and learning starts with a ‘portrait of a graduate’; really connected with us because it focuses on the end goal and builds a well-rounded program of future-ready learning around the student learner.
