The finalists have been announced in the search for the Cato-Meridian Central School District’s next superintendent.
The Board of Education has announced that Kasey Dolson and Dee Froio have completed their final round of interviews and are the two finalists for the position.
Dolson has over 20 years of experience in education; since 2023, she has been the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in the Liverpool Central School District. According to Cato-Meridian, her tenure in the field has seen her lead efforts to integrate academics, social-emotional learning, and mental health support.
Froio has been the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Accountability in the Hannibal Central School District since 2016 and serves as the district’s Title IX officer and represents the district on regional curriculum councils. In her time in education, she has led multiple district-wide initiatives, including the Oswego County Literacy Initiative, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support implementation, and the development of a guaranteed and viable curriculum.
The school board will now have to decide which woman will be offered the superintendent position and begin negotiations with her. The district previously stated it intends to make that announcement in April, with the appointee taking over in July.
Michael Hoose has been serving as interim superintendent after Dr Terry Ward stepped down as superintendent on January 4.
