After a five-year hiatus, the Auburn Music Boosters Harvest of Sound Marching Band Competition will return to Holland Stadium this month.
The Auburn Vanguard Marching Band will host eight other local bands during the competition, which will be the first US Bands Competition in Central New York. This means the competition will be adjudicated by top judges from across the country.
US Band is a national organization dedicated to supporting scholastic music programs.
Auburn Vanguard’s show, titled Voyag to Vahalla, tells the story of two Vikings battling for supremacy.
This rendition represents the 40th year of the event which was started in 1980 under the direction of Dr Stephen Gage. To commemorate this milestone, a special display will showcase the history of the music program. Any alumni wishing to share memorabilia can contact the boosters at [email protected] or 315-604-8343
The completion will begin at 12:00p on Saturday, September 28 with gates opening at 11:00a.
Presale tickets are now available and can be purchased outside the Auburn Hich School Band Room from 5:00-6:00p on the following dates: Monday the 23rd, and Wednesday the 25th. Tickets will also be available at the Maroons football game on the 27th.
General parking will be at Cayuga Community College with handicapped parking at the junior high. Additional parking will be at Auburn Alliance Church with a shuttle bus leaving the church every 15 minutes from 11:30a-4:00p.
