A bicyclist, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Ontario County Wednesday, was arrested while being treated at the hospital.
Richard Noaker, of Hopewell, was riding his bike west on State Routes 5 and 20 in Hopewell when police say he attempted to cross two lanes of traffic without yielding to oncoming cars. That is when Noaker was hit by a westbound car.
While Noaker was being treated for his injuries at Thompson Hospital, it is alleged that he was found to be in possession of cocaine. The 63-year-old Noaker was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Canandaigua EMS assisted the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
