Authorities have arrested a Rochester man they say stole mail while working as a U.S. Postal Carrier.
Sekou Diakate was charged with forgery after an investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Postal Inspectors determined he had stolen mailed checks on his route. The 41-year-old altered the checks and deposited them into his checking account in 2023.
Sekou was charged with forgery and was taken into custody without incident.
