The investigation into a stolen car complaint on Sunday resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old Shortsville man.
The victim told police they were parked on Water Street in the village of Shortsville when Kyle Baker had allegedly used physical force to steal their car. Baker was later located in the village of Clifton Springs, where he engaged in a short pursuit, before abandoning the stolen car and fleeing on foot. While attempting to take Baker into custody, a State Trooper and Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputy suffered undisclosed non-life-threatening injuries.
Baker was taken to the Ontario County Jail where he will be held on pre-arraignment detention until the next CAP Court proceeding.
Baker will appear in Manchester Town Court at a later date to answer the charge of robbery. Additional charges against him are pending.
Both injured officers were treated and released from Clifton Springs Hospital.
