Expanding broadband, school transportation, and cell service – those are some of the issues that will be covered on Wednesday at a Rural Equity Forum in Skaneateles.
Assemblymen John Lemondes, Jeff Gallahan, and Brian Miller will hold the forum to discuss issues affecting rural communities throughout New York State. Combined, the three men represent parts of several counties, including Cayuga, Seneca, and Ontario.
Lemondes previously spoke on FLX Morning where he said the forum is about eventually getting additional resources for Upstate.
“The most important thing is the recognition of the challenges that rural folks have, and then actually sitting down and doing something about it. So, we hope that these forums will drive exposure; the exposure will drive the ability to plan, and that planning will result in resources,” said Lemondes.
Other issues that will be discussed include energy and utility costs.
The event will run from 6:30-8:30p at the Skaneateles Volunteer Fire Department.
