Cayuga County 911 is reminding residents that they can sign up to be notified by them in the event of emergencies.
Cayuga County Sheriff explained the Hyper-Reach Reverse 911 program to Finger Lakes News Radio.
“If there’s an emergency and you’ve registered with hyper-reach, you get immediate notifications on your communications device that’ll let you about the emergency and maybe any pertinent information relative to how that can be addressed and what you may need to do.”
911 can send these messages either countywide or keep them localized depending on the situation.
Registration for the free program can be done online at hyper-reach.com.
