Bicyclist Struck By Car in Yates County Passes Away

SHARE NOW

The bicyclist who was struck by a car while riding in the Bon Ton Roulet just outside of the village of Penn Yan last month has died from his injuries. The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reports David Bialosky passed away on Wednesday.

On July 25th, Bialosky was riding on State Route 54 when he was struck by a car driven by Dale Jensen of Penn Yan as Jensen attempted to turn onto Bath Road. The 81-year-old Pittsburgh man was airlifted to Strong for head, shoulder, and internal injuries.

Jensen was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.  As is normal procedure, the Sheriff’s Office is reviewing the matter with the Yates County District Attorney’s Office to see if additional charges would be warranted.
