Fire Crews Battled 2 Chimney Fires in Cayuga County Thursday

Two chimney fires kept Cayuga County first responders busy Thursday night.

According to The Citizen, crews responded to the first chimney fire on Main Street in Locke around 6:30p. That fire was quickly extinguished.

Around 7:00p another chimney fire was reported, this time on Black Street in Scipio. Departments battled the blaze which had spread to an attached garage to ensure it did not spread to more of the house.

Thursday also saw crews battle a barn fire in Moravia and a house fire in Ira.
