  • History Happy Hour: Seneca Lake in Summer September 21 at Lake Drum Brewing from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Join Curator John Marks as he shares a captioned slide show of historical images about how people have enjoyed summer on Seneca Lake over the last 120 years. Come in any time, stay as long as you like! The images will run on a continuous loop.
  • Slavery in the Finger Lakes September 24 at Rose Hill from 2 pm – 3 pm. As part of Historic Geneva’s Fall Program Series and in conjunction with the current exhibits Lift Every Voice: Geneva’s Black Community Since 1966 and Slavery in New York State, Executive Director Kerry Lippincott will examine slavery in New York State and explore the lives of Rose Hill’s enslaved people. The program is free and open to the public.
  • Civil War Day September 30 at Rose Hill from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Come to Rose Hill to meet Union Civil War reenactors and learn about military and civilian life during the American Civil War. The event is free and open to the public.
  • Rose Hill is open for guided tours Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday, 12 to 4 pm through the end of October. The East Tenant Cottage contains two exhibits about the workers at Rose Hill. One House, Many People and Slavery in New York State. Along with the regular guided tours, there are several specialty tours – Behind The Scenes, Bedroom Tales and Outside Rose Hill: An Exploration of Landscape and Architecture. The tours are not the same as the regular tour and each one lasts an hour. As space is limited, reservations are required for the tours.
