- The Lunchtime Lecture series August 16 from noon-1 at the Equal Rights Heritage Center, featuring Molly Jessup, Education Specialist at Women’s Rights National Historical Park. Jessup will introduce the five organizers of the 1848 Seneca Falls Women’s Rights Convention and hear about the pitfalls and triumphs of their grassroots campaign to achieve equal rights.
- “Costuming Manhunt” August 22. Get lost in Civil War era fashion with costume designer Katie Irish. Learn how she “weaves the reality” for Hollywood historical dramas, including “Manhunt,” where she was the lead designer. Katie will talk about dressing the “Seward family” and working with the SHM to create TV magic.
- The Distinguished Speaker series September 11th. For the final installment of our 2024 Distinguished Speaker Series, we welcome Harvard University Dillon Professor of American History and scholar Robin Bernstein. Bernstein will discuss her latest book: Freeman’s Challenge: The Murder That Shook America’s Original Prison for Profit.
