In this episode: September is National Fruit and Veggies Month. Farmers Markets are coming to a close. It’s your last chance to use FMNP and WIC cards to save money. It’s a good time to stock up on items that will keep or can be preserved over the winter. CCE will hold Pumpkin Days on the last day of the Seneca Falls Farmers Market October 1 and the Waterloo Farmers Market October 5. CCE is holding back to school open houses with recipes and nutrition information. The Farm to School gardens are being harvested and students are getting Farm to School and Dairy in the Classroom education. The NY Harvest of the Month is apples. Ontario County Fun on the Farm is September 27 for students and the 28th for the public at Hemdale Farms in Seneca Castle. There will be a Farm to School training for school food service workers October 11 at NY Kitchen in Canandaigua.
