• A couple is buying a tax foreclosure property at 88 Clark St. and will rent it out, returning it to the tax rolls.
• The city has awarded a contract for tree services as part of a plan to plant up to 230 new trees in the next five years through a USDA grant.
• There’s money left over from a project at the water filtration plant. It will used to do additional work on the project.
• The city is hiring a consultant to help it determine where to set water and sewer rates over the next 5-10 years.
• The city will apply for grant money for the 2024 Smart Growth Community Planning and Zoning Program to help with updating the city’s comprehensive plan.
• The city has reached an out-of-court settlement with Auto Zone over its property assessment.
• The city awarded a contract for engineering services for the Burgess St. culvert project.
• The Auburn Police Department and Cayuga County DA’s office will use money from the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) program for what is called Problem Oriented Policing.
• Auburn is one of five central NY communities designated as Pro-Housing communities by the state. That will allow the city to apply for $1.5 million in grant funding for housing-related projects.
• Tomorrow is the Saturday Market at the Equal Rights Heritage Center.
