    • Councilor Ginny Kent is retiring at the end of the year. She was honored at the Council meeting for her long career in public service.
    • A public hearing has been scheduled for February 5 on the city’s 2026-27 Community Development Block Grant action plan.
    • A buyer has been found for a tax foreclosure property at 34 Franklin St. The new owners plan a business and housing for the property.
    • The city will be paid by the state for its acquisition of three city rights-of-way for construction work on the Arterial. The work should begin this summer.
    • The city once again approved an agreement to provide ambulance service for the town of Aurelius.
    • Highland Planning LLC has been chosen to help the city with an update to its comprehensive plan. Most of the firm’s fee will be covered by a state grant.
    • The city will work with the state on a cybersecurity plan.
    • The state awarded the city a grant to get more vacant rental properties back in use and back on the tax rolls.
    • The city will lease space at City Hall to some economic development agencies that were displaced from their offices in the County Office Building.
    • The city will work the the Finn Institute to implement the Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate Violence or STRIVE Initiative.
    • There will be no council meeting next week because of Christmas.
