Red Wings roughed up 7-1 by RailRiders in Rochester

It was a rough Tuesday night for the Rochester Red Wings, who were handed a lopsided 7-1 loss by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. The Red Wings couldn’t generate much offensively and found little resistance to offer against their Triple-A East rivals.

In the NHL playoffs, the Buffalo Sabres dropped Game 2 to the Boston Bruins 4-2, evening the first-round series at one game apiece. Viktor Arvidsson had a strong night for Boston, scoring twice to pace the Bruins’ offense. The Sabres, who took Game 1, will need to regroup heading into the next contest.

On the MLB side, the New York Yankees cruised to a 4-0 shutout of the Boston Red Sox. Giancarlo Stanton provided the offensive firepower, homering and adding a two-run double to account for much of the damage. The win moves New York to 14-9 on the season, while Boston drops to 9-14.
