New York controlled the game throughout, making short work of a Cleveland team that came in with the better regular-season record. The Knicks now hold a commanding position in the series.
Down in the Bronx, the Blue Jays completed a 4-game split with the Yankees, winning 2-0 behind a George Springer home run and a stout pitching performance that held New York to just three hits. At 30-21, the Yankees remain above .500, but dropping the finale to a Toronto team sitting at 23-27 won’t sit well. The Blue Jays take a quiet win they’ll gladly accept.
