Trout, Angels hand Yankees a series split

Thursday was a light day on the local sports calendar, with only one tracked team in action — and it was a New York team taking a loss out west.

Mike Trout homered again as the Los Angeles Angels rolled past the New York Yankees 11-4 in the finale of a four-game series, splitting the set. The Angels got the better of Aaron Judge and company in the slugfest, with Trout’s bat doing much of the damage. Los Angeles improved to 10-10 on the season, while the Yankees fell to 10-9 — still hovering just above .500 heading into the weekend.

No other tracked teams were in action Thursday. The Bills, Sabres, Giants, Knicks, Rangers, Red Wings, Knighthawks, Cornell, Hobart, and Syracuse all had the day off.
