A Central New York high school boys lacrosse team’s season is in jeopardy as authorities are investigating a possible hazing incident involving some members of the team.
Channel 9 in Syracuse on Monday confirmed that the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Westhill varsity team and the actions of approximately 12 players towards at least two teammates. No details of the alleged incident have been released. It is being reported that the alleged hazing incident did not occur on school property.
Westhill played at Penn Yan on April 19th at lost against the Mustangs 8 to 3. Three days later, they played at Jordan-Elbridge. Their game last Saturday was cancelled, and Tuesday’s game has been postponed. The school has also suspended the team from practicing while the investigation takes place.
