    Heavy snow expected. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. Northwest winds gusting as high as 35 mph Monday afternoon will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.

    Portions of central New York and northeast Pennsylvania.
    WHEN
    Until 7 PM EST Monday.
    IMPACTS
    Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Snowfall hourly rates could exceed 2 inches per hour through the evening hours. The snow tapers down this evening. Temperatures will be very cold throughout this storm, hovering in the upper single digits to teens the entire time, with colder wind chills.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body heat. Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.

Two Killed in Onondaga County Two-Car Crash

11 a.m. UPDATE:

The investigation determined that a 2014 Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on County Route 57 speeding through a red light at the intersection and struck a 2016 Ford Escape, that was traveling westbound on State Route 31.

The single occupant of the 2014 Mustang, operated by Michael Paetow, age 72, from Liverpool,  was transported to Upstate University Hospital and pronounced deceased.

The operator of the 2016 Escape, Shaylee Allen, age 26, from Tully, and an 11-month-old backseat passenger, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The front passenger, Dawn Brown, age 58, from Syracuse was transported to Upstate University Hospital and pronounced deceased.

Two people are dead following a two-car accident at the intersection of State Route 31 and County Route 57 in the Onondaga County Town of Clay.

The accident happened just after 11 on Sunday morning.

State Police are continuing to investigate and are asking if anyone was in the area at the time of the incident and can provide any information, they are requested to contact State Police at 315-366-6000.
