20, 952 tickets were issued by State Troopers during their special “Speed Week” traffic enforcement campaign.
The campaign ran from the 12th through the 18th and saw 10,478 speeding tickets issued and 172 people arrested for drunk and impaired driving.
These numbers are down from last year’s campaign when 22,333 total tickets, including 11,566 for speeding, were issued.
In the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, and Central New York regions, over 5,500 tickets were issued over the weeklong enforcement event.
