The Co-Chairman of the George Pataki Foundation will challenge Kirsten Gillibrand for her U.S. Senate seat. Josh Eisen plans on announcing his candidacy on Tuesday afternoon in Syracuse.
According to an article in the New York Post, Eisen is a Westchester County businessman who owns professional services companies that focus mainly on background checks. He is also a major Republican party donor. Eisen is the first Republican candidate to announce his campaign for the Senate seat.
While in Central New York, Eisen will discuss the local Syracuse economy and the rise in crime and homelessness in the region.
According to Eisen’s campaign, the 51-year-old is also a philanthropist who has donated millions of dollars to local charities. He has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Ph.D.
