Applications are once again open for students in the 24th Congressional District seeking to join one of the nation’s military service academies.

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney announced that she is now accepting applications from students seeking her nomination for admittance to the following US service academies: US Military Academy, West Point, NY; US Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD; US Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO; US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY.

As a member of the US House of Representatives, Tenney is able to nominate candidates to four of the five service academies. The fifth service academy, the US Coast Guard Academy, does not require nominations.

Attending a service academy comes with an obligation to serve a minimum of five years in the military.

Those interested in applying for a nomination should visit Tenney’s website for application information. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Tenney’s Oswego office at (315) 236-7088 or visit her website for more information.

The 24th district is composed of parts or all of Cayuga, Genesee, Jefferson, Livingston, Niagara, Ontario, Orleans, Oswego, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates Counties.
