A New York State trooper was hospitalized after a head-on collision involving a marked police vehicle on Seven Springs Mountain Road in Monroe. The accident happened around 8:45 p.m. on Monday.
According to preliminary reports, a marked police vehicle with its emergency lights on was parked facing eastbound while the trooper investigated an unrelated crash. A 2007 Honda traveling westbound swerved to avoid another vehicle, lost control, and struck the police vehicle head-on.
The trooper was taken to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. The Honda driver reported no injuries.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
