The Great New York State Fair invites local 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations to collaborate with The Fair on its Reprize-A-Prize program, which is back for a second great year. The program allows fairgoers to give back to the community by donating prizes and stuffed animals won on the Fairgrounds and the Midway to not-for-profit organizations dedicated to supporting families, children, and underserved community members. The Fair is currently accepting applications at this link.
“The Great New York State Fair is committed to community engagement, and we are pleased to continue the Reprize-A-Prize program to repurpose prizes, toys, and stuffed animals for donation,” said Fair Director, Julie LaFave. “Through Reprize-A-Prize, we hope to bring some joy and comfort to children, families, and underserved members of our community. So, if you win big at The Fair, please consider donating it back to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life!”
Eligibility for the program is open to all not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations that serve special needs groups, low-income individuals, and underserved areas. Applicants must provide proof of their established criteria (detailed below) and answer all questions on the application form, which can be accessed by clicking here. Selected not-for-profit groups will receive the donated prizes, toys, and stuffed animals from The Fair’s 13-day event and will coordinate with Fair staff for delivery.
The application deadline is set for 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. The review will be conducted by a committee, considering the following criteria:
- Existence of mission statement, by-laws, constitution, or equivalent documents proving support for the targeted beneficiaries of the Reprize-A-Prize donations.
- Strength and practicality of the applicant’s plan to allocate and distribute donations effectively.
- Completeness and thoroughness of the application, including all required documentation.
Notification of selection will be sent to the chosen not-for-profit organization(s) no later than August 8, 2025. All applicants will be formally informed of the committee’s decision.
