Special Olympics New York will continue to expand health and fitness programs for athletes across the state thanks to a $150,000 grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. The funding will support fitness training, health education, and health screenings for thousands of athletes.
“This support is essential to ensuring credible and productive competitions,” said Stacey Hengsterman, President and CEO of Special Olympics New York. “On behalf of all our athletes, thank you to the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for extending its support into the new year.”
Jennifer Balbach, Finance Committee Chair of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Board, highlighted the Foundation’s focus on practical, people-centered support. “At a time when many families are being asked to do more with less, we remain committed to helping New Yorkers with everyday needs—from nutritious food and safe housing to mental health care,” Balbach said.
This marks the Foundation’s second consecutive year supporting Special Olympics New York, with a $50,000 increase over last year’s contribution.
