SHARE NOW

A Chemung County woman suffered serious internal injuries after a car struck her home.

A preliminary investigation by State Police revealed that a 2014 Toyota Tundra had been involved in a pursuit with police in Sayre, Pennsylvania. The pursuit was discontinued after the driver of the car, Terry Murray, of Lockwood, New York, in Tioga County, crossed into New York. At around 9:30 Tuesday night, Murray crashed into a home at 959 Dry Brook Road in the town of Chemung.

Both residents had to extricated from inside. 71-year-old Connie Miller, suffered serious internal injuries and was transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Her husband, 76-year-old John Miller, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Three dogs were rescued from the home and another dog was rescued from the Tundra.

New York State Police arrested Murray on felony charges of vehicular assault, DWI, prior conviction within ten years, and aggravated unlicensed operation.

Murray was sent to Chemung County Jail after arraignment.

The investigation is ongoing.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
