A Southern Tier teenager has been charged with felony assault after allegedly striking a State Trooper during an investigation.
State Police were called to a home on Rotary Road in the Chemung County town of Chemung Wednesday night for a domestic dispute with a teenager damaging property inside. It is alleged that as the teen was being issued an appearance ticket, he became aggressive and struck a Trooper on the head, resulting in an injury. The unidentified 17-year-old was then placed under arrest on the felony and brought to the barracks in Horseheads.
The teen was released on an appearance ticket for Youth Court
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
