All six people who were on board a small plane that crashed into a field in upstate New York on Saturday afternoon were killed, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The aircraft, a twin-engine turboprop Mitsubishi MU-2B, went down near the town of Copake around 12:15 p.m. The plane was en route to Columbia County Airport in Hudson, New York, at the time of the crash.
Copake is located approximately 50 miles south of Albany, near the Massachusetts state line.
The New York Times reported Sunday night the victims were two surgeons, two of their children and the children’s partners. According to a family member, they were en route to celebrate a milestone birthday and Passover Seder
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the cause of the crash.
