With the weekend flooding in Ontario County and the Hudson Valley, Senator Chuck Schumer is calling on FEMA to grant any funding New York may need.
He spoke Monday on the senate floor, saying ” I’ve ben in contact with local first responders on the ground to ensure we’re doing everything we can, in my office, to help. Today, I also called on FEMA to be ready to grant any request from [New York State] for a major disaster declaration.”
Schumer added that he will continue to monitor the situation and use the federal government in any way needed to help.
