A Schenectady woman has been charged with recklessly causing the death of her 10-month-old daughter.
Halo Branton was reported missing just after nine Saturday night and was found dead on Sunday afternoon. 24-year-old Persia Nelson has been charged with second-degree manslaughter. Investigators determined Halo’s death was caused by her mother dropping her down an approximate ten-foot-deep pipe access area that had water and mid at the base. The child apparently died of hypothermia.
Nelson was arraigned Monday morning in Schenectady City Court and sent to jail in lieu of bail.
