A 76-year-old Rochester man was sentenced to 120 months in prison followed by seven years of supervised release for attempting to receive child pornography, U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Tuesday.
Tomas Rosario, a former Monroe County school bus driver, was convicted of sexually explicit conduct and contact with a 13-year-old student he transported to and from school.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, Rosario engaged the victim in inappropriate conversations and encouraged her to take and send sexually explicit photos. His actions were captured on bus surveillance footage. He also warned the victim not to disclose the incidents during a subsequent encounter, which was recorded on convenience store security cameras.
The investigation was led by the Rochester Police Department, under Police Chief David Smith, and the FBI’s Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force, led by Acting Agent-in-Charge Mark Grimm.
