Rochester Regional Health Implements Masking Policy Amid Flu Surge

SHARE NOW

Rochester Regional Health has updated its hospital masking policies as flu cases continue to rise across Monroe County and New York State.

Effective this week, all visitors, patients, and staff are required to wear masks under a new “temporary universal masking” policy.

Hospital officials say the change comes in response to an increase in staff illnesses, flu-related hospitalizations, and patients needing isolation. Masks will be provided in all clinical areas to ensure compliance.

The requirement is expected to remain in place for about one month, with hospital leaders continuing to monitor the situation to protect both patients and staff.
