Rochester Native Selected To Lead The Navy

President Joe Biden has selected a Rochester native Admiral Lisa Franchetti to lead the Navy. If she is confirmed, she would be the first woman to be a Pentagon service chief and the first female member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Franchetti is a 1981 graduate of Pittsford Mendon High School.

Franchetti is slated to serve as the acting Navy chief beginning next month when the current top naval officer retires.
