Rochester General Hospital has unveiled a $1.5 million renovation of its cardiac catheterization laboratory, marking a major investment in advanced heart care for the local community.
The project, funded by Rochester Regional Health, modernized one of the hospital’s most critical cardiac care spaces. Officials said the renovation replaced aging infrastructure and outdated equipment while creating a more efficient clinical environment for patients and medical staff.
Rochester General’s cardiac teams perform more than 5,600 procedures each year across four catheterization labs.
Hospital leaders said the upgraded lab is designed to support safer procedures, improve efficiency and accommodate increasingly complex cardiac interventions. The investment is part of a long-term strategy to maintain state-of-the-art facilities and meet growing patient needs.
“This renovation is about much more than new technology; it’s about investing in the health of our community for decades to come,” said Tammy Snyder, president and chief operating officer of Rochester General Hospital. “By upgrading this essential space, we’re ensuring our teams have the tools and environment they need to deliver the highest level of cardiac care.”
Officials said the project also reflects continued collaboration between Rochester General Hospital and the Sands Constellation Heart Institute, with both organizations focused on innovation and clinical excellence.
Rochester General Hospital is part of Rochester Regional Health, an integrated health system serving communities across Western and Central New York.
