Congresswoman Claudia Tenney will host a Medal Ceremony to recognize the bravery of Torpedoman’s Mate Second Class Joseph Edward Joseph, during his service in the Navy during World War II.
The ceremony will take place Saturday morning at 11 at Fort Ontario Historic Site in Oswego.
Joseph was honorably discharged from the United States Navy on January 4, 1946, after serving in World War II aboard the USS Aulick. Joseph, for his actions and bravery, earned the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and foreign awards of the Philippine Republic Presidential Unit Citation and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze battle star.
