Rep. Tenney Supports Bills to “Protect New Yorkers”

SHARE NOW

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is supporting two bills aimed at countering the policies of Vice President Kamala Harris, which according to the NY-24 representative, “are threatening New York communities and allowing dangerous criminals into our country.”

H.R. 7909, the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, mandates the deportation of illegal aliens who commit sex offenses or domestic violence and bars them from re-entry into the United States. This bill, which Tenney supported, passed the House by a vote of 266-158.

H.R. 5717, the No Bailout for Sanctuary Cities Act, prevents sanctuary states and cities from using taxpayer dollars to provide services to illegal immigrants. This bill, which Tenney supported, passed the House by a vote of 219-186.

According to Congresswoman Tenney, the new data shows that hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants with criminal records have been released into the United States under the Biden-Harris administration. The data even proves that 425,431 convicted criminals and 222,141 individuals with pending criminal charges were released, including 62,231 convicted of assault, 56,533 convicted of drug-related offenses, 14,301 convicted of burglary, 15,811 convicted of sexual assault, and 13,099 convicted of homicide.

“The Biden-Harris border crisis has been driven by pro-criminal, anti-American policies from this administration, as well as radical left-wing governors and mayors,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “New York State and New York City are actively encouraging dangerous illegal aliens to enter our country and settle in our state, with Albany using federal taxpayer dollars to support them. With recent data showing that 425,431 convicted criminals have been released into our country, we must enact policies to keep New Yorkers safe and ensure dangerous illegal immigrants are immediately deported and barred from re-entry. Americans tax dollars should not be used to fund and prolong the Biden-Harris border crisis.”
