Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24), alongside Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), has reintroduced the Remembering Our Local Heroes Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at helping communities honor their veterans, law enforcement officers, and firefighters.
The legislation would direct the Secretary of the Interior to create a grant program to fund the construction, maintenance, and restoration of local memorials dedicated to those who have served.
“Our veterans, first responders, and law enforcement officers embody the very best of our nation,” Tenney said. “This bill ensures communities have the resources to preserve these lasting tributes.”
Pappas added, “This legislation helps ensure that the service and sacrifice of our heroes will never be forgotten.”
If passed, the bill would provide financial support to communities across the country, including those in New York and New Hampshire, to maintain meaningful local monuments that honor public service and sacrifice.
