Rep. Tenney Nominates President Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has announced she has formally nominated President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in the Abraham Accords and what she described as a record of diplomatic achievements during his second term.

Tenney, a Republican who represents New York’s 24th Congressional District, said the nomination recognizes Trump’s efforts to advance peace and cooperation through negotiated agreements, particularly in the Middle East.

The nomination centers on the Abraham Accords, which led to normalization agreements between Israel and Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, and Sudan — the first such agreements between Israel and Arab nations since 1994.

Tenney’s office also pointed to what it called a series of international conflict settlements negotiated during Trump’s second term, including agreements involving Armenia and Azerbaijan, India and Pakistan, Cambodia and Thailand, Egypt and Ethiopia, Serbia and Kosovo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, Israel and Iran, and Israel and Hamas.

In a statement, Tenney said Trump’s diplomatic efforts reflect a focus on de-escalation, dialogue, and negotiated outcomes.

“President Trump has delivered something many said was impossible: real, lasting peace through diplomacy,” Tenney said. “Through the Abraham Accords, longstanding barriers to normalization in the Middle East were overcome, and in his second term alone, his administration negotiated settlements to eight international conflicts within one year.”

Tenney said she has now nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize three times and encouraged other eligible officials to submit nominations through the formal process.

The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded annually by the Norwegian Nobel Committee based on nominations submitted by qualifying individuals and institutions. The committee does not comment on specific nominations while they are under review.
