Farmers, managers, owners, dairy industry professionals, and those in allied industries are invited to attend the 3rd Annual Cornell Cooperative Extension Northwest NY Dairy Day. This one-day conference will be held on February 6 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm at The Chalet at East Hill Creamery, 346 Main Street South in Perry.
This one-day conference provides a platform for attendees to connect, collaborate, and learn about some of the most prominent topics in the dairy industry today.
Topics to be presented are as follows: Cornell Agricultural Systems Testbed (CAST) and Dairy Technology- Dr. Julio Giordano, Cornell University; CCE NWNY Research and Project Update- Margaret Quaassdorff and Kaitlyn Lutz, CCE NWNY Team; fairlife-NY Dairy’s Next Partner- Kaitlyn Briggs, DVM, MBA, Dairy Welfare Lead at fairlife; Panel on “Transitioning to Rotary Parlor Milking”. Weather permitting, there will be art exhibited by the Creative Artists Migrant Program Services program with the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.
Registration is $50 per person, with a discounted rate of $40 offered to enrollees, and includes lunch provided by Old Souls Catering. The Chalet is located East Hill Creamery which makes artisan Alpine-style cheeses using milk from their grass-fed cows on their family dairy in Wyoming County. After the conference be sure to discover the cheese caves and visit the shop beneath for some take-home treats.
