    Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 12 and 18 inches, with localized amounts up to 22 inches. Northwest winds gusting as high as 35 mph Monday afternoon will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.

    Portions of central New York and northeast Pennsylvania.

    Until 7 PM EST Monday.
    IMPACTS
    Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Snowfall will likely be very heavy at times this afternoon into the evening with hourly rates potentially exceeding 2 inches per hour. The snow tapers down this evening. Temperatures will be very cold throughout this storm, hovering in the upper single digits to teens the entire time, with colder wind chills.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body heat. Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.

Police Release Names of Three People Killed in Southern Tier Crash

State Police on Monday released the names of all of the people involved in a two-car crash in the Southern Tier Saturday that resulted in the deaths of three people.

The driver of the Toyota Highlander is identified as Janesa Lorenzo, age 42 from the Bronx, NY. She sustained serious injuries and was transported to Robert Packer in Sayre, PA in critical condition.

The front seat passenger is identified as Delroy A. Christie, age 56 from the Bronx, NY was transported to Robert Packer in Sayre, PA and suffered what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Rear seat passenger, Carlos M. Lorenzo, age 41 from the Bronx, NY was pronounced deceased on scene.

Rear seat passenger Sabrina M. Surita, age 38 of Manahawkin, NJ was transported to Robert Packer in Sayre, PA with life-threatening injuries and later died at the hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado is identified as Gary Sinsabaugh, age 68 of Athens, PA and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

State Police say three people died following a head-on crash involving two vehicles in Tioga County.

A preliminary investigation at the scene revealed that a Toyota Highlander was traveling north on State Route 34 when it crossed into the opposite lane of travel and struck a southbound Chevy Silverado pick-up truck head-on.

Four people were inside the Toyota Highlander. The driver of the Highlander, a 42-year-old woman from the Bronx was transported by ambulance to Robert Packer in critical condition. A 56-year-old male passenger from the Bronx was transported by ambulance to Robert Packer Hospital for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries. A rear seat passenger, a 41-year-old male from the Bronx was pronounced deceased on scene. A rear-seat passenger, a 38-year-old woman from the Bronx was transported by ambulance to Robert Packer and later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

One person was traveling in the Chevy Silverado pick-up, a 68-year-old male of Athens, PA who was pronounced deceased on scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

No names will be released at this time as notifications to the next of kin have not been made to all of the victims.
