State Police have arrested a Western New York man for allegedly attempting to trade guns for a car on Facebook Marketplace. Troopers seized four assault weapons and eight high-capacity magazines from Michael Lee’s home in the Niagara County town of Burt.
The 32-year-old Lee was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree -Assault Weapon- 4 counts, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree – high-capacity magazine and Possession of a loaded firearm.
Lee was transported to SP Lockport for processing and taken to Niagara County Jail for CAP arraignment.
The NYSP Community Stabilization Unit and Special Investigations Unit were involved in this case.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
